Australia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDECDE

LAST sea thing dredged by sailor Time from SpaceA
Are you a drift Sargasso where the WestB
In halcyon calm rebuilds her fatal nestB
Or Delos of a coming Sun God s raceA
Are you for Light and trimmed with oil in placeA
Or but a Will o Wisp on marshy questB
A new demesne for Mammon to infestB
Or lurks millennial Eden neath your faceA
-
The cenotaphs of species dead elsewhereC
That in your limits leap and swim and flyD
Or trail uncanny harp strings from your treesE
Mix omens with the auguries that dareC
To plant the Cross upon your forehead skyD
A virgin helpmate Ocean at your kneesE
