Port Ceiriad Bay Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGE HIJK

Descended to the shore odd how we leftA
the young girl with us to herself and wentB
straight to examine the stratified cliffsC
forgot her entirely in our interestD
-
You marvelled at the shapes the clockwork seaE
had worn the stone talking keenly untilF
the pace of this random sculpture recalledG
your age to you and then its anodynesE
-
And so you turned pretending youth courtingH
the girl as if you were a boy againI
leaving the wry cliffs to their erosionJ
and me to my observant solitudeK
