A Child Of Queen Elizabeth's ChapelA
-
-
Weep with me all you that readB
This little storyC
And know for whom a tear you shedB
Death's self is sorryC
'Twas a child that so did thriveD
In grace and featureE
As Heaven and Nature seem'd to striveD
Which own'd the creatureE
Years he number'd scarce thirteenF
When Fates turn'd cruelA
Yet three fill'd zodiacs had he beenG
The stage's jewelA
And did act what now we moanH
Old men so dulyC
As sooth the Parcae thought him oneI
He play'd so trulyC
So by error to his fateJ
They all consentedK
But viewing him since alas too lateJ
They have repentedK
And have sought to give new birthL
In baths to steep himM
But being so much too good for earthL
Heaven vows to keep himM
