Karolin's Song Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EEFGHHFG

Though I am young and cannot tellA
Either what love or death is wellA
Yet I have heard yet both bear dartsB
And both do aim at human heartsB
And then again I have been toldC
Love wounds with heat as death with coldC
So that I fear they do but bringD
Extremes to touch and mean one thingD
-
As in a ruin we it callE
One thing to be blown up or fallE
Or to our end like way may haveF
By a flash of lightning or a waveG
So love's inflamed shaft or brandH
May kill as soon as death's cold handH
Except love's fires the virtue haveF
To fright the frost from out the graveG
