Evening: Barents Sea Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BACDAA EFGH AIJKFLM FF N

The trawl of unquiet mind drops asternA
-
Great lucid streamers bar the sky aheadB
bifurcated banners at a tourneyA
light alchemizes the brass on the bridgeC
into sallow goldD
now the short northernA
autumn day closes quicklyA
-
the thin coastE
of grey Norway is it or of RussiaF
distinguished only as a formal changeG
in the pattern of clouds on our port sideH
-
on the deck the strung lights illuminate noA
movement but the sullen swill of waterI
in the washer but the unnatural wayJ
dead starfish and disregarded dabs swimK
in the strict seas surging through the bilgesF
and out A fishgut hangs like a hank ofL
hair from the iron grill in a pound boardM
-
brighter now that the sun the fishfinder'sF
green bleep catches the skipper's intentnessF
-
and the trawl is down is out is catchingN
