A Sonnet, To The Noble Lady, The Lady Mary Wroth Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCABBADEFGHH

I that have been a lover and could show itA
Though not in these in rhymes not wholly dumbB
Since I exscribe your sonnets am becomeB
A better lover and much better poetC
Nor is my Muse or I ashamed to owe itA
To those true numerous graces whereof someB
But charm the senses others overcomeB
Both brains and hearts and mine now best do know itA
For in your verse all Cupid's armoryD
His flames his shafts his quiver and his bowE
His very eyes are yours to overthrowF
But then his mother's sweets you so applyG
Her joys her smiles her loves as readers takeH
For Venus' ceston every line you makeH
