A Farewell To The World Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGFG DHDH IJIJ EKLK MAMA NONO PQPQ

False world good night since thou hast broughtA
That hour upon my morn of ageB
Henceforth I quit thee from my thoughtA
My part is ended on thy stageB
-
Yes threaten do Alas I fearC
As little as I hope from theeD
I know thou canst not show nor bearE
More hatred than thou hast to meD
-
My tender first and simple yearsF
Thou didst abuse and then betrayG
Since stir'd'st up jealousies and fearsF
When all the causes were awayG
-
Then in a soil hast planted meD
Where breathe the basest of thy foolsH
Where envious arts profess egrave d beD
And pride and ignorance the schoolsH
-
Where nothing is examined weigh'dI
But as 'tis rumour'd so believedJ
Where every freedom is betray'dI
And every goodness tax'd or grievedJ
-
But what we're born for we must bearE
Our frail condition it is suchK
That what to all may happen hereL
If 't chance to me I must not grutchK
-
Else I my state should much mistakeM
To harbour a divided thoughtA
From all my kind that for my sakeM
There should a miracle be wroughtA
-
No I do know that I was bornN
To age misfortune sickness griefO
But I will bear these with that scornN
As shall not need thy false reliefO
-
Nor for my peace will I go farP
As wanderers do that still do roamQ
But make my strengths such as they areP
Here in my bosom and at homeQ
