Sunrise On The Coast Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFGF CHHH

Grey dawn on the sand hills the night wind has driftedA
All night from the rollers a scent of the seaB
With the dawn the grey fog his battalions has liftedA
At the call of the morning they scatter and fleeB
Like mariners calling the roll of their numberC
The sea fowl put out to the infinite deepD
And far overhead sinking softly to slumberC
Worn out by their watching the stars fall asleepD
-
To eastward where rests the broad dome of the skies onE
The sea line stirs softly the curtain of nightF
And far from behind the enshrouded horizonG
Comes the voice of a God saying Let there be lightF
-
And lo there is light Evanescent and tenderC
It glows ruby red where 'twas now ashen greyH
And purple and scarlet and gold in its splendourH
Behold 'tis that marvel the birth of a dayH
