Come all ye bold trainers attend to my songA
It's a rule of the A J CB
You mustn't train ponies for that's very wrongA
By the rules of the A J CB
You have to wear winkers when crossing the streetC
For fear that a pony you'd happen to meetC
If you hear one about you must beat a retreatC
That's a rule of the A J CB
-
And all ye bold owners will find without failD
By the rules of the A J CB
The jockey boys' fees you must pay at the scaleD
It's a rule of the A J CB
When your horse wins a fiver you'll laugh I'll be boundE
But you won't laugh so much by the time that you've foundE
That the fee to the boy is exactly ten poundE
That's a rule of the A J CB
-
And all ye bold 'Books' who are keeping a shopF
In the rules of the A J CB
There's a new regulation that says you must stopF
That's a rule of the A J CB
You must give up your shop with its pipes and cigarsG
To an unlicensed man who is thanking his starsG
While you go and bet in the threepenny barsG
That's a rule of the A J CB
-
And all ye small jockeys who ride in a raceH
In the rules of the A J CB
If owners' instructions are 'Don't get a place'H
By the rules of the A J CB
You must ride the horse out though of course if you doI
You will get no more mounts it's starvation to youI
But bless you you'll always find plenty to chewI
In the rules of the A J CB
