A Mountain Station Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCE FEFEGEGE HEHEEEEE EGEGAIAI JBJBKGK LMLMEGE G

I bought a run a while agoA
On country rough and ridgyB
Where wallaroos and wombats growA
The Upper MurrumbidgeeB
The grass is rather scant it's trueC
But this a fair exchange isD
The sheep can see a lovely viewC
By climbing up the rangesE
-
And She oak Flat's the station's nameF
I'm not surprised at that sirsE
The oaks were there before I cameF
And I supplied the flat sirsE
A man would wonder how it's doneG
The stock so soon decreasesE
They sometimes tumble off the runG
And break themselves to piecesE
-
I've tried to make expenses meetH
But wasted all my laboursE
The sheep the dingoes didn't eatH
Were stolen by the neighboursE
They stole my pears my native pearsE
Those thrice convicted felonsE
And ravished from me unawaresE
My crop of paddy melonsE
-
And sometimes under sunny skiesE
Without an explanationG
The Murrumbidgee used to riseE
And overflow the stationG
But this was caused as now I knowA
When summer sunshine glowingI
Had melted all Kiandra's snowA
And set the river goingI
-
And in the news perhaps you readJ
Stock passings PuckawidgeeB
Fat cattle Seven hundred headJ
Swept down the MurrumbidgeeB
Their destination's quite obscureK
But somehow there's a notionG
Unless the river falls they're sureK
To reach the Southern Ocean '-
-
So after that I'll give it bestL
No more with Fate I'll battleM
I'll let the river take the restL
For those were all my cattleM
And with one comprehensive curseE
I close my brief narrationG
And advertise it in my verseE
For Sale A Mountain Station '-
