A Job For Mcguinness Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGD

Oh it's dreadful to think in a country like thisA
With its chances for work and enjoymentB
That a man like McGuinness was certain to missA
Whenever he tried for employmentB
-
He wrote to employers from Bondi to BourkeC
From Woolloomooloo to Glen InnesD
But he found though his wife could get plenty of workC
There was never a job for McGuinnessD
-
But perhaps later on when the Chow and the JapE
Begin to drift down from the tropicsF
When a big yellow stain spreading over the mapE
Provides some disquieting topicsF
-
Oh it's then when they're wanting a man that will standG
In the trench where his own kith and kin isH
With a frown on his face and a gun in his handG
Then there might be a job for McGuinnessD
