Typographical Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAB CBDDDB

The Editor wrote his political screedA
In ink that was fainter and fainterB
He rose to the call of his country's needA
And in spiderish characters wrote with speedA
A column on Cutting the PainterB
-
The reader sat in his high backed chairC
For literals he was a hunterB
But he stared aghast at the column longD
Of the editorial hot and strongD
For the comp inspired by some sense of wrongD
Had headed it Gutting the PunterB
