Prelude - From The Man From Snowy River And Other Verses Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFGFHBHB

I have gathered these stories afarA
In the wind and the rainB
In the land where the cattle camps areA
On the edge of the PlainB
On the overland routes of the westC
When the watches were longD
I have fashioned in earnest and jestC
These fragments of songD
-
They are just the rude stories one hearsE
In sadness and mirthF
The records of wandering yearsG
And scant is their worthF
Though their merits indeed are but slightH
I shall not repineB
If they give you one moment's delightH
Old comrades of mineB
