Morgan the drover explainedA
As he drank from his battered quart potB
Many a slut I have trainedA
This is the best of the lotB
-
Crossing these stringybark hillsC
Hungry and rocky and steepD
This is the country that killsC
Weakly and sore footed sheepD
-
Those that are healthy and strongE
Battle away in the leadF
Carting the others alongE
Eating the whole of the feedG
-
That's where this little red slutH
Shows you what's bred in the boneI
Works it all out in her nutH
Handles it all on her ownI
-
Backwards and forwards she'll trackJ
Gauging the line at a glanceK
Keeping the stronger ones backJ
Giving the tailers a chanceK
-
Weary and hungry and lameL
Sticking all day to her jobM
Thin as a rabbit but gameL
Working in front of the mobM
-
Tradesmen I call 'em the dogsN
Those that'll work in a yardO
Bark till they're hoarser than frogsN
Makin' 'em savage and hardO
-
Others will soldier and shirkP
While there's a rabbit to huntQ
This is an artist at workP
Watch her out there in the frontQ
