The Mind Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEE FGHG IJIJJ

The mind is a fertile soilA
On it must something toilA
Either a positive thought is plantedB
Or negative thoughts sproutedB
-
Whether one or the other growsC
Is always of ones controlsD
For by diligence must one plant seedsE
Or by negligence tend weedsE
-
And as one ship sails eastF
Thus moved by the great windG
And yet the other flows westH
Propelled thither by the same windG
-
So too our thoughts areI
Tarmac to climb us highJ
High up bove yonder starI
Or down low to a dim dense sighJ
And all lust hath root in the eyeJ

Poet's note: All human achievement is a product of the mind. The mind thus being a magnet that attracts to one whatever is meditated upon; should therefore be under check to lead to a desired favorable outcome. This is the core message of this poem.
