Too Soon So Fair, Fair Lilies Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCD EFGGF HEIIE HHJJK

TOO soon so fair fair liliesA
To bloom is then to waneB
The folded bud has stillC
To morrow at its willC
Blown flowers can never blow againD
-
Too soon so bright bright noontideE
The sun that now is highF
Will henceforth only sinkG
Towards the western brinkG
Day that's at prime begins to dieF
-
Too soon so rich ripe summerH
For autumn tracks thee fastE
Lo death marks on the leafI
Sweet summer and my griefI
For summer come is summer pastE
-
Too soon too soon lost summerH
Some hours and thou art o'erH
Ah death is part of birthJ
Summer leaves not the earthJ
But last year's summer lives no moreK
