The Old Dream Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACBDCBCD AEAFEDFEGD CHCEHDEHID

NAY tell me not I will not knowA
Because of her my life is bareB
A waste where blow seeds spring and growA
Then die because the soil is spentC
And leave no token they were thereB
A soddened mere where marsh lights gleamD
But no star sees the ray it lentC
Because of her despoiled and bareB
What then she did a wrong unmeantC
Leave me my dreamD
-
Tell me no more I will not knowA
My life if she had harsher eyesE
Did her sweet voice not deepen soA
Had maybe missed this bitternessF
Maybe I should have been more wiseE
If she were sterner or could seemD
If she could have been pitilessF
Too sweet low voice too trustful eyesE
What then she could not judge their stressG
Leave me my dreamD
-
I will not know Rob not my heartC
It is too poor to lose yet moreH
Leave the old dream where she was partC
Are all smiles ill all sweetness liesE
One blossom once my life time boreH
It wakened at her April beamD
Then froze yet dead 'tis still some prizeE
It shows mine blossoms were of yoreH
Let be I need some memoriesI
Leave me my dreamD
