Autumn-s Warnings Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACADADAE FCFCFFFFF GBHFGIGJG KFKBKFKFKK

SOFT voices of the woods that makeA
The summer air a harmonyB
Winged whispers through the leaves where wakeA
Long wind wafts dying in a sighC
Replies of birds from brake to brakeA
Plash of the runnel on its stonesD
Soft voices sweet for summer's sakeA
There is a word in all your tonesD
A word that not till now ye spakeA
'Goodbye goodbye 'E
-
And yet see dearest overheadF
The branches bar a sultry skyC
No earliest fleck of tanned or redF
'Mid all the leafage far and nighC
And with their serried curves outspreadF
The fresh green fern fronds know no frostF
Nought gone but still some grace is deadF
Nought changed but still some hope is lostF
Listen and every voice has saidF
'Goodbye goodbye '-
-
We shall not see the summer waneG
But with a start of memoryB
When the long chills have come againH
Awake and know that it did dieF
So slowest loss is sudden painG
We have not known till all is o'erI
'Tis summer till the autumn's rainG
Yet has there stolen long beforeJ
That sadness through some sweetest strainG
'Goodbye goodbye '-
-
Ah love hear all the thought that grewK
Mock it away I'll mock it IF
Summer and I sit here with youK
Your great eyes smiling tenderlyB
Your silence wooing me to wooK
A meaning in your lightest wordF
As though love made it something newK
And what if all the while I heardF
The autumn whisper sighing throughK
'Goodbye goodbye'K
