A Coarse Morning Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCACCA DDEEFDFFD GGAACGCCG

OH the yellow boisterous seaA
The surging chafing murderous seaA
And the wind gusts hurtle the torn clouds byB
On to the south through a shuddering skyB
And the bare black ships scud aloof from the landC
'Tis as like the day as can beA
When the ship came in sight that came never to strandC
The ship that was blown on the sunken sandC
And he coming back to meA
-
Oh the great white snake of foamD
The coiling writhing snake of white foamD
Hissing and huddering out in the bayE
Over the banks where the wrecked ship layE
Over the sands where the dead may lie deepF
There are some in the churchyard loamD
Some two or three the sea flung to our keepF
Their mothers can sit by a grave to weepF
But my son never came homeD
-
Never never living or deadG
Oh never Willie living or deadG
Could you keep your word and come back to meA
Oh my darling As like this day as can beA
When the ship came in sight that came never to strandC
When the ship came rounding the headG
Close to the haven and close to the sandC
And their graves are long green that were tossed to landC
Ah 'Sure to come back ' he saidG
