In Search Of Equality Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDDDDD EEFFFF GGGHII

Some are imprisoned some are free but none are truly liberatedA
The decrees of this world O Lord are hard to comprehend fatedA
Some laugh some cry happiness does not embrace allB
Why must tears fall from the children of this same earth s callB
Born in the palace one becomes a prince by birthrightC
Born in a humble home one bows deprived of mightC
-
No one is barred from the air and light a shared domainD
Then who sets these endless boundaries that cause such painD
Who claims it all building fortresses in their reignD
Here and there demons spread their wings in disdainD
Proclaiming all as theirs they deceive without refrainD
Snatching food from the hungry leaving hearts in chainD
-
Some indulge in the pleasures of rain while others drownE
Some are lost in the sea others find the shore s renownE
What loss would befall the world if joy were equally spreadF
Why can t one earth cradle all in comfort insteadF
I seek equality a harmony of joy forgetting sorrow s threadF
Yet equality seems veiled beneath this world s shroud unreadF
-
Some find warmth in winter s frost while others die in its chillG
This world offers no equal shelter no universal willG
Some bask in the sun s glow while others burn to ashes stillG
The shade of this earth fails to soothe every soul it fillsH
May eternal spring descend for all to equally embraceI
I dream of a humane world this is my poetic spaceI
