White Magic Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG EHEH IAJA FKFK

Against the world I closed my heartA
And half in pride and half in fearB
I said to Love and Lust DepartA
None enters hereC
-
A gipsy witch has glided inD
She takes her seat beside my fireE
Her eyes are innocent of sinD
Mine of desireE
-
She holds me with an unknown spellF
She folds me in her heart's embraceG
If this be love I cannot tellF
I watch her faceG
-
Her sombre eyes are happierE
Than any joy that e'er had voiceH
Since I am happiness to herE
I too rejoiceH
-
And I have closed the door againI
Against the world I close my heartA
I hold her with my spell in vainJ
Would she departA
-
I hold her with a surer spellF
Beyond her magic and aboveK
If hers be love I cannot tellF
But mine is loveK
