Palm Sunday Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBCB DBEBEB FBCBCB

Because it is the day of PalmsA
Carry a palm for meB
Carry a palm in Santa ChiaraC
And I will watch the seaB
There are no palms in Santa ChiaraC
To day or any day for meB
-
I sit and watch the little sailD
Lean side ways on the seaB
The sea is blue from here to SorrentoE
And the sea wind comes to meB
And I see the white clouds lift from SorrentoE
And the dark sail lean upon the seaB
-
I have grown tired of all these thingsF
And what is left for meB
I have no place in Santa ChiaraC
There is no peace upon the seaB
But carry a palm in Santa ChiaraC
Carry a palm for meB
