Haschisch Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBA CCDDC EEFFE GHIIH

Behind the door beyond the lightA
Who is it waits there in the nightA
When he has entered he will standB
Imposing with his silent handB
Some silent thing upon the nightA
-
Behold the image of my fearC
O rise not move not come not nearC
That moment when you turned your faceD
A demon seemed to leap through spaceD
His gesture strangled me with fearC
-
And yet I am the lord of allE
And this brave world magnificalE
Veiled in so variable a mistF
It may be rose or amethystF
Demands me for the lord of allE
-
Who said the world is but a moodG
In the eternal thought of GodH
I know it real though it seemI
The phantom of a haschisch dreamI
In that insomnia which is GodH
