At The Stage Door Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAA BCBDDEEFFCC GHIJGIHJH

Kicking my heels in the streetA
Here at the edge of the pavement I wait for you sweetA
Here in the crowd the blent noises blurred lights of the streetA
-
Under the archway sheerB
Sudden and black as a hole in the placarded wallC
Faces flicker and veerB
Wavering out of the darkness into the lightD
Wavering back into nightD
Under the archway suddenly seen the curlsE
And thin bright faces of girlsE
Roving eyes and smiling lips and the glanceF
Seeking finding perchanceF
Here at the edge of the pavement there by the wallC
One face out of them allC
-
Steadily face after faceG
Cheeks with the blush of the paint yet lingering eyesH
Still with their circle of blackI
But hers but hersJ
Rose leaf cheeks and flower soft lips and the graceG
Of the vanishing Spring come backI
And a child's heart blithe in the sudden and sweet surpriseH
Subtly expectant that stirsJ
In the smile of her heart to my heart of her eyes to my eyesH
