Alle Zattere Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHEEIJ KKAALMABAANNOOPPQRJJ SSTUVV

Only to live only to beA
In Venice is enough for meA
To be a beggar and to lieB
At home beneath the equal skyB
To feel the sun to drink the nightC
Had been enough for my delightC
Happy because the sun allowedD
The luxury of being proudD
Not to some only but to allE
The right to lie along the wallE
Here my ambition dies I askF
No more than some half idle taskF
To be done idly and to fillG
Some gaps of leisure when I willG
I care not if the world forgetH
That it was ever in my debtH
I care not where its prizes fallE
I long for nothing having allE
The sun each morning on his wayI
Calls for me at the ZattereJ
I wake and greet him I go outK
Meet him and follow him aboutK
We spend the day together heA
Goes to bed early as for meA
I make the moon my mistress proveL
Constant to my inconstant loveM
For she is coy with me will hieA
To my arms amorously and flyB
Ere I have kissed her ah but sheA
She it is to eternityA
I adore only and her smileN
Bewilders the enchanted isleN
To more celestial magic glowsO
At once the crystal and the roseO
The crazy lover of the moonP
I hold her on the still lagoonP
Sometimes I hold her in my armsQ
'Tis her cold silver kiss that warmsR
My blood to singing and puts fireJ
Into the heart of my desireJ
And all desire in Venice diesS
To such diviner lunaciesS
Life dreams itself the world goes onT
Oblivious in oblivionU
Life dreams itself contents to keepV
Happy immortality in sleepV
