Alla Dogana Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCBA DEEAAD

Night and the silence of the nightA
In Venice far away a songB
As if the lyric water madeC
Itself a serenadeC
As if the water's silence were a songB
Sent up into the nightA
-
Night a more perfect dayD
A day of shadows luminousE
Water and sky at one at one with usE
As if the very peace of nightA
The older peace than heaven or lightA
Came down into the dayD
