Flight Of Stairs Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDEF GHIJ KLMNO P

Stairs fly as straight as hawksA
Or else in spirals curve out of curve pausingB
At a ledge to poise their wings before relaunchingB
Stairs sway at the height of their flightC
Like a melody in TristanD
Or swoop to the ground with glad spread of their feathersE
Before they close themF
-
They curiously investigateG
The shells of buildingsH
A hollow coreI
Shell in a shellJ
-
Useless to produce their path to infinityK
Or turn it to a moral symbolL
For their flight is ambiguous upwards or downwards as you pleaseM
Their fountain is frozenN
Their concertina is silentO
