The Shady Lane Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDECCCFGGH

Whence comest thou shady lane and why and howA
Thou where with idle heart ten years agoB
I wandered and with childhood's paces slowB
So long unthought of and remembered nowA
Again in vision clear thy pathwayed sideC
I tread and view thy orchard plots againD
With yellow fruitage hung and glimmering grainE
Standing or shocked through the thick hedge espiedC
This hot still noon of August brings the sightC
This quelling silence as of eve or nightC
Wherein Earth feeling as a mother mayF
After her travail's latest bitterest throesG
Looks up so seemeth it one half reposeG
One half in effort straining suffering stillH
