The Hidden Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCC DDEEFFGGHH AAGGG GGIIJJ KKLL

O let me love my love unto myself aloneA
And know my knowledge to the world unknownA
No witness to my vision callB
Beholding unbeheld of allB
And worship Thee with Thee withdrawn apartC
Whoe'er Whate'er Thou artC
Within the closest veil of mine own inmost heartC
-
What is it then to meD
If others are inquisitive to seeD
Why should I quit my place to go and askE
If other men are working at their taskE
Leave my own buried roots to goF
And see that brother plants shall growF
And turn away from Thee O Thou most Holy LightG
To look if other orbs their orbits keep arightG
Around their proper sunH
Deserting Thee and being undoneH
-
O let me love my love unto myself aloneA
And know my knowledge to the world unknownA
And worship Thee O hid One O much soughtG
As but man can or oughtG
Within the abstracted'st shrine of my least breathed on thoughtG
-
Better it were thou sayest to consentG
Feast while we may and live ere life be spentG
Close up clear eyes and call the unstable sureI
The unlovely lovely and the filthy pureI
In self belyings self deceivings rollJ
And lose in Action Passion Talk the soulJ
-
Nay better far to mark off thus much airK
And call it Heaven place bliss and glory thereK
Fix perfect homes in the unsubstantial skyL
And say what is not will be by and byeL
