Some Future Day When What Is Now Is Not Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCBB DDBB EEBB FFBB

Some future day when what is now is notA
When all old faults and follies are forgotA
And thoughts of difference passed like dreams awayB
We'll meet again upon some future dayB
-
When all that hindered all that vexed our loveC
As tall rank weeds will climb the blade aboveC
When all but it has yielded to decayB
We'll meet again upon some future dayB
-
When we have proved each on his course aloneD
The wider world and learnt what's now unknownD
Have made life clear and worked out each a wayB
We'll meet again we shall have much to sayB
-
With happier mood and feelings born anewE
Our boyhood's bygone fancies we'll reviewE
Talk o'er old talks play as we used to playB
And meet again on many a future dayB
-
Some day which oft our hearts shall yearn to seeF
In some far year though distant yet to beF
Shall we indeed ye winds and waters sayB
Meet yet again upon some future dayB
