Solvitur Acris Hiems Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBAC DDDEEEC BFFBFABBBC

Youth that went is come againA
Youth for which we all were fainB
With soft pleasure and sweet painB
In each nerve and every veinB
Circling through the heart and brainB
Whence and wherefore come againA
Eva tell meC
-
Dead and buried when we thought himD
Who the magic spell hath taught himD
Who the strong elixir brought himD
Dead and buried as we thoughtE
Lo unasked for and unsoughtE
Comes he shall it be for noughtE
Eva tell meC
-
Youth that lifeless long had lainB
Youth that long we longed in vain forF
Used to grumble and complain forF
Thought at last to entertainB
A decorous cool disdain forF
On a sudden see againA
Comes but will not long remainB
Comes with whom too in his trainB
Comes and shall it be in vainB
Eva tell meC
