????? ???· ????? ????? (greek - Poems And Prose Remains, Vol Ii) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCAA DDEE FGHH CCAA HHII

Upon the water in the boatA
I sit and sketch as down I floatA
The stream is wide the view is fairB
I sketch it looking backward thereB
-
The stream is strong and as I sitC
And view the picture that we quitC
It flows and flows and bears the boatA
And I sit sketching as we floatA
-
Each pointed height each wavy lineD
To new and other forms combineD
Proportions vary colours fadeE
And all the landscape is remadeE
-
Depicted neither far nor nearF
And larger there and smaller hereG
And varying down from old to newH
E'en I can hardly think it trueH
-
Yet still I look and still I sitC
Adjusting shaping altering itC
And still the current bears the boatA
And me still sketching as I floatA
-
Still as I sit with something newH
The foreground intercepts my viewH
Even the distant mountain rangeI
From the first moment suffers changeI
