Farewell, Farewell! Her Vans The Vessel Tries Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Farewell farewell Her vans the vessel triesA
His iron might the potent engine pliesA
Haste winged words and ere 'tis useless tellB
Farewell farewell yet once again farewellB
-
The docks the streets the houses past us flyC
Without a strain the great ship marches byC
Ye fleeting banks take up the words we tellB
And say for us yet once again farewellB
-
The waters widen on without a strainD
The strong ship moves upon the open mainD
She knows the seas she hears the true waves swellB
She seems to say farewell again farewellB
-
The billows whiten and the deep seas heaveE
Fly once again sweet words to her I leaveE
With winds that blow return and seas that swellB
Farewell farewell say once again farewellB
-
Fresh in my face and rippling to my feetF
The winds and waves an answer soft repeatF
In sweet sweet words far brought they seem to tellB
Farewell farewell yet once again farewellB
-
Night gathers fast adieu thou fading shoreG
The land we look for next must lie beforeG
Hence foolish tears weak thoughts no more rebelH
Farewell farewell a last a last farewellB
-
Yet not indeed ah not till more than seaI
And more than space divide my love and meI
Till more than waves and winds between us swellB
Farewell a last indeed a last farewellB
