Elegiac I. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDEDBDFDB

From thy far sources 'mid mountains airily climbingA
Pass to the rich lowland thou busy sunny riverB
Murmuring once dimpling pellucid limpid abundantC
Deepening now widening swelling a lordly riverB
Through woodlands steering with branches waving above theeD
Through the meadows sinuous wandering irriguousE
Towns hamlets leaving towns by thee bridges across theeD
Pass to palace garden pass to cities populousE
Murmuring once dimpling mid woodlands wandering idlyD
Now with mighty vessels loaded a mighty riverB
Pass to the great waters though tides may seem to resist theeD
Tides to resist seeming quickly will lend thee passageF
Pass to the dark waters that roaring wait to receive theeD
Pass them thou wilt not thou busy sunny riverB
