Easter Day Ii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEF GGHIIHDDJKKEEF LLKKMMNNHHDDJEEF

So in the sinful streets abstracted and aloneA
I with my secret self held communing of mine ownA
So in the southern city spake the tongueB
Of one that somewhat overwildly sungB
But in a later hour I sat and heardC
Another voice that spake another graver wordC
Weep not it bade whatever hath been saidD
Though He be dead He is not deadD
In the true creedE
He is yet risen indeedE
Christ is yet risenF
-
Weep not beside His tombG
Ye women unto whomG
He was great comfort and yet greater griefH
Nor ye ye faithful few that wont with Him to roamI
Seek sadly what for Him ye left go hopeless to your homeI
Nor ye despair ye sharers yet to be of their beliefH
Though He be dead He is not deadD
Nor gone though fledD
Not lost though vanishedJ
Though He return not thoughK
He lies and moulders lowK
In the true creedE
He is yet risen indeedE
Christ is yet risenF
-
Sit if ye will sit down upon the groundL
Yet not to weep and wail but calmly look aroundL
Whate'er befelK
Earth is not hellK
Now too as when it first beganM
Life is yet life and man is manM
For all that breathe beneath the heaven's high copeN
Joy with grief mixes with despondence hopeN
Hope conquers cowardice joy griefH
Or at least faith unbeliefH
Though dead not deadD
Not gone though fledD
Not lost though vanishedJ
In the great gospel and true creedE
He is yet risen indeedE
Christ is yet risenF
