Blessed Are They That Have Not Seen! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGG HHIIJKLLMM NNBBOPQQ

O happy they whose hearts receiveA
The implanted word with faith believeA
Because their fathers did beforeB
Because they learnt and ask no moreB
High triumphs of convictions wroughtC
And won by individual thoughtC
The joy delusive oft but keenD
Of having with our own eyes seenD
What if they have not felt nor knownE
An amplitude instead they ownE
By no self binding ordinance prestF
To toil in labour they detestF
By no deceiving reasoning tiedG
Or this or that way to decideG
-
O happy they above their headH
The glory of the unseen is spreadH
Their happy heart is free to rangeI
Thro' largest tracts of pleasant changeI
Their intellects encradled lieJ
In boundless possibilityK
For impulses of varying kindsL
The Ancient Home a lodging findsL
Each appetite our nature breedsM
It meets with viands for its needsM
-
O happy they nor need they fearN
The wordy strife that rages nearN
All reason wastes by day and moreB
Will instinct in a night restoreB
O happy so their state but giveO
A clue by which a man can liveP
O blest unless 'tis proved by factQ
A dream impossible to actQ
