Ah! Yet Consider It Again! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABC DEBC FFBC GGBC

Old things need not be therefore trueA
O brother men nor yet the newA
Ah still awhile the old thought retainB
And yet consider it againC
-
The souls of now two thousand yearsD
Have laid up here their toils and tearsE
And all the earnings of their painB
Ah yet consider it againC
-
We what do we see each a spaceF
Of some few yards before his faceF
Does that the whole wide plan explainB
Ah yet consider it againC
-
Alas the great world goes its wayG
And takes its truth from each new dayG
They do not quit nor can retainB
Far less consider it againC
