Across The Sea Along The Shore Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFGHHIJKKEE LMLMCNCN

Across the sea along the shoreA
In numbers more and ever moreA
From lonely hut and busy townB
The valley through the mountain downB
What was it ye went out to seeC
Ye silly folk GalileeC
The reed that in the wind doth shakeD
The weed that washes in the lakeD
The reeds that waver the weeds that floatE
A young man preaching in a boatE
What was it ye went out to hearF
By sea and land from far and nearG
A teacher Rather seek the feetH
Of those who sit in Moses' seatH
Go humbly seek and bow to themI
Far off in great JerusalemJ
From them that in her courts ye sawK
Her perfect doctors of the lawK
What is it came ye here to noteE
A young man preaching in a boatE
-
A prophet Boys and women weakL
Declare or cease to raveM
Whence is it he hath learned to speakL
Say who his doctrine gaveM
A prophet Prophet wherefore heC
Of all in Israel tribesN
He teacheth with authorityC
And not as do the ScribesN
