The Girl At The Harp Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBBCDBDBC

LIKE Clotho at her harp she sits and weavesA
With mystic fingers from the swaying stringsB
A melody that ever louder singsB
And my charmed heart in vibrant rapture leavesA
All hers And all her quiet life receivesA
The peaceful melody which round her clingsB
She walks amid suave strains and murmuringsB
That never doubt or strident discord cleavesB
And from her singing harp she bends to grantC
My dear desire and the poor monotoneD
That is my life in her glad heart she takesB
And twining its dull phrases with her ownD
Full flowing theme of life of both she makesB
The p an of one love reverberantC
