Sydney Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCABDAEFGEFG

In her grey majesty of ancient stoneA
She queens it proudly though the sun's caressB
Her piteous cheeks ravished of bloom confessB
And her dark eyes his bridegroom glance have knowC
Robed in her flowing parks serene aloneA
She fronts the east and with the tropic stressB
Her smooth brow ripples into wearinessD
Yet hers the sea for footstool and for throneA
A continent predestined Round her trailsE
The turbid squalor of her streets and dimF
Into the dark heat haze her domes flow upG
Her long lean fingers with their grey old nailsE
Giving her thirsty lips to the cool brimF
Of the bronze beauty of her harbour's cupG
