Whose honest eyes with no sad tears are wet | A |
Whose bosom has no passion to forget | A |
But thrills and lifts exuberant as she | B |
Voices some sudden flooding melody | B |
A land of strength life vigour youth and yet | A |
An old land grey as I her child am grey | C |
Filled with the whispers of old thoughts that stir | D |
And wake like shadows of the past that play | C |
Deep in the beauty of a child's grave eyes | E |
And show beneath life's gladness glancing there | F |
The pathos of a hundred histories | G |
