Lovers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACBBBCB

I thought because we had been friends so longA
That I knew all your dear lips dared intendB
Before they dawned to speech Our thoughts would blendB
I dreamed like memories that faintly throngA
Your voice dwelt in me like an olden songA
Petal I thought from petal I could rendB
The blossom of your soul and at the endB
Find still the same sweet fragrance I was wrongA
Last evening in our eyes love brimmed to birthC
Our friendship faded lost in passion's mistB
We had been strangers only Here close caughtB
Against my heart the dim face I had soughtB
So long And now the only thing on earthC
Your piteous mouth a tremble to be kissedB
