China 1899 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADCEDFGHFHG

She lies a grave disdain all her defenceA
Too imperturbable for scorn She hearsB
Only the murmur of the flowing yearsC
That thunder slowly on her shores immenseA
And ebb away in moaning impotenceD
Giants enduring she and Time are peersC
Her dream hazed eyes knowing no hopes no tearsE
Her glance a langour lidded insolenceD
And though the rabble of the restless WestF
In her deserted courts set their rash swayG
She heeds them not as when the sun withdrawnH
From his untarnished sky knows it distressedF
By storm of weakling stars that he at dawnH
Will wither with one ruthless glance awayG
