After Long Years Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABBBCCCDDDEEE

AND have I changed she asked and as she spokeA
The old smile o'er her pale face bravely brokeA
And in her eyes dead worlds of pathos wokeA
Changed When I knew again the ghost of eachB
Remembered trick of gesture manner speechB
And felt the beauty that no years could reachB
I will go back with you without regretC
For not one word you spoke I dare forgetC
And with each kiss of yours I tremble yetC
No you have taken your way I took mineD
A word may not our severed lives entwineD
Nor will a kiss the shattered years combineD
She put her arms around me held me nearE
Then forward to her lonely path and drearE
She turned her sad wan face without a tearE
