A.d. 19-? Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDEEDC| AS in some quiet city bathed in sleep | A |
| Where like a kiss the twilight lingereth | B |
| When suddenly the earth stirs far beneath | B |
| Just moves then pauses and a silence deep | A |
| Falls on all ere the second shock should sweep | A |
| Spire column pinnacle to shapeless death | B |
| And white face peers at white face and no breath | B |
| Is drawn and every heart forgets to leap | A |
| So now across this quiet dreaming world | C |
| The first faint shock has thrilled and men aghast | D |
| Wait for the second whose blind forces pent | E |
| Shall in one last convulsion find their vent | E |
| And all the builded fabrics of the past | D |
| Shall be in ruins on their builders hurled | C |
