The Dude Ranch Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHDHIJKJ LMNMDOKO

We used to run a cow ranchA
In all that old term meantB
But all our ancient gloriesC
In recent years have wentB
We're takin' summer boardersD
And puttin' it quite rudeE
It's now the cowboy's provinceF
To herd the festive dudeE
-
We used to run an outfitG
The greatest in the WestH
Our cowboys were the wondersD
Our roundups were the bestH
The punchers still are with usI
But now they merely guideJ
The tenderfoot from BostonK
Who's learnin' how to rideJ
-
We used to brand our cattleL
And ship 'em wide and farM
But now we import humansN
From off the Pullman carM
The dudes have got us capturesD
And tied and branded tooO
And the cowboy's readin' IbsenK
When his daily toil is throughO
