Hymn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJK ALMLNLL OP QRKSTLL

I know if I find you I will have to leave the earthA
and go on outB
over the sea marshes and the brant in baysC
and over the hills of tall hickoryD
and over the crater lakes and canyonsE
and on up through the spheres of diminishing airF
past the blackset noctilucent cloudsG
where one wants to stop and lookH
way past all the light diffusions and bombardmentsI
up farther than the loss of sightJ
into the unseasonal undifferentiated empty starkK
-
And I know if I find you I will have to stay with the earthA
inspecting with thin tools and ground eyesL
trusting the microvilli sporangia and simplestM
coelenteratesL
and praying for a nerve cellN
with all the soul of my chemical reactionsL
and going right on down where the eye sees only tracesL
-
You are everywhere partial and entireO
You are on the inside of everything and on the outsideP
-
I walk down the path down the hill where the sweetgumQ
has begun to ooze spring sap at the cutR
and I see how the bark cracks and winds like no other barkK
chasmal to my ant soul running up and downS
and if I find you I must go out deep into yourT
far resolutionsL
and if I find you I must stay here with the separate leavesL
