The Song Sparrow Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCDEEEEFF

Fair little scout that when the iron yearA
Changes and the first fleecy clouds deployB
Comest with such a sudden burst of joyB
Lifting on winter's doomed and broken rearA
That song of silvery triumph blithe and clearA
Not yet quite conscious of the happy glowC
We hungered for some surer touch and loC
One morning we awake and thou art hereD
And thousands of frail stemmed hepaticasE
With their crisp leaves and pure and perfect huesE
Light sleepers ready for the golden newsE
Spring at thy note beside the forest waysE
Next to thy song the first to deck the hourF
The classic lyrist and the classic flowerF
