The Poets Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAADDA EFFEGH

Half god half brute within the self same shellA
Changers with every hour from dawn till evenB
Who dream with angels in the gate of heavenC
And skirt with curious eyes the brinks of hellA
Children of Pan whom some the few love wellA
But most draw back and know not what to sayD
Poor shining angels whom the hoofs betrayD
Whose pinions frighten with their goatish smellA
-
Half brutish half divine but all of earthE
Half way 'twixt hell and heaven near to manF
The whole world's tangle gathered in one spanF
Full of this human torture and this mirthE
Life with its hope and error toil and blissG
Earth born earth reared ye know it as it isH
