Temagami Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDEFFGHGIFar in the grim Northwest beyond the lines | A |
That turn the rivers eastward to the sea | B |
Set with a thousand islands crowned with pines | A |
Lies the deep water wild Temagami | C |
Wild for the hunter's roving and the use | D |
Of trappers in its dark and trackless vales | E |
Wild with the trampling of the giant moose | D |
And the weird magic of old Indian tales | E |
All day with steady paddles toward the west | F |
Our heavy laden long canoe we pressed | F |
All day we saw the thunder travelled sky | G |
Purpled with storm in many a trailing tress | H |
And saw at eve the broken sunset die | G |
In crimson on the silent wilderness | I |
